Our Mission
Neue Galerie New York is a museum devoted to early twentieth-century German and Austrian art and design. The creation of art dealer Serge Sabarsky and philanthropist Ronald S. Lauder, the museum opened in 2001 with the principal goals to bring a sense of perspective back to Germanic culture of this period, and to make the best of this work available to American and other audiences for both scholarly and aesthetic inquiry.

The Neue Galerie is open through Monday, October 14 with regular hours. Please note that the museum, shops, and cafés are closed Tuesday, October 15–Wednesday, October 16. We reopen with regular hours on Thursday, October 17.

First Fridays
The museum is open late and offers free admission from 5 to 8 p.m. on select Fridays. Admission is granted on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Neue Galerie is offering reduced admission through October 14, 2024.
During this time, the second floor galleries will be open, featuring “Austrian Masterworks from the Neue Galerie.” Gustav Klimt’s Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I will always be on view. The third floor galleries remain closed as we prepare for “Egon Schiele: Living Landscapes,” which opens on October 17, 2024. While you are always welcome to purchase same-day admission at the museum, Advance Tickets are also available for purchase online. Please see below.

While you are always welcome to purchase same-day admission at the museum, tickets are also available for purchase online. Advance Ticket reservations include admission to all open galleries.

Are there any times when admission to the museum is free?
Yes. The Neue Galerie is delighted to offer First Fridays, granting free admission to the museum from 5 to 8 p.m. on the first Friday of each month. For more information, including the dates on which the First Fridays will fall throughout the year ahead, please follow this link.
Is the admission price suggested?
No, the admission price is fixed at a price of $28, regular admission; $18, seniors; and $15, students, educators and persons with disabilities. The Neue Galerie reserves the right to offer special deals or reduced admission at its discretion. The most up-to-date pricing information is listed above.
What is the minimum age to be eligible for the senior citizen discount?
The senior citizen discount applies to those 65 years of age or older.
Is there a discount for university faculty or high school educators?
Yes. The rate is the $12 student admission, with a valid educator’s ID.
