Ronald S. Lauder, President and Co-Founder, Neue Galerie New York
In May 2026, The Metropolitan Museum of Art and Neue Galerie New York announced a planned merger between the two institutions, set to begin in 2028. Timed with the Neue Galerie’s 25th anniversary, the agreement marks a transformative step in preserving and advancing the extraordinary cultural legacy of the Neue Galerie for future generations. For this first collaborative program between the two museums, Neue Galerie President and Co-Founder, Ronald Lauder, and Met Director and CEO, Max Hollein, will have a wide-ranging conversation on the subjects of art, collecting, and patronage in the 21st century.
The event will be held in the Grace Rainey Rogers Auditorium at The Metropolitan Museum of Art with a reception to follow. We encourage guests to arrive promptly. Please note that seating is limited and not guaranteed.
