A Weekend With Erich Heckel

“A Weekend With Erich Heckel” celebrates the Autumn 2025 exhibition season at Neue Galerie New York, which features an important monographic exhibition on the German Expressionist artist Erich Heckel (1883-1970). The presentation includes nearly 40 works ranging in date from 1905 to 1920, from his student years through his experience behind the frontlines as a medical orderly during World War I. The show highlights major works in the museum’s collection alongside notable loans from the Harvard Art Museums, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond, among others.

From activities for young children and teens to lectures and more, there is something for everyone available during this festive weekend. In addition to “Erich Heckel,” all galleries will be open, including “Austrian Masterworks from the Neue Galerie,” “German Masterworks from the Neue Galerie,” and “Dagobert Peche: Ornamental Genius.”
